Your data rights
Ask for a copy, a correction, or a deletion. Here is exactly how, what we need from you, and how long it takes.

The privacy notice explains what we hold and why. This page is how you act on it. Rights here are the ones given by the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
What you can ask for
- A copy of your data
- Everything we hold about you, in a readable format. Free, once per year.
- A correction
- Fix anything inaccurate or incomplete — a misspelled name, an out-of-date payout destination.
- Deletion
- Remove your data where we no longer have a lawful reason to keep it. See the limits below.
- Portability
- Your data as machine-readable JSON or CSV, so you can take it to another service.
- Restriction or objection
- Ask us to stop a particular use while a dispute about it is resolved.
- Withdraw consent
- Disconnect a social account at any time from Settings → Connections. The stored access token is deleted immediately.
How to make a request
Email [privacy@example.com] from the address on your account, and say which of the above you want. If you cannot use that address, tell us and we will verify you another way.
We will ask you to confirm your identity before we disclose anything — usually by signing in and confirming from your account. This is not an obstacle: it is what stops someone else requesting your data.
How long it takes
We acknowledge within 3 working days and complete within 30 days. If a request is unusually complex we may extend by a further 30 days, and we will tell you why before the first 30 days are up.
There is no charge for a first request in any 12-month period.
What we cannot delete, and why
Some records have to survive a deletion request. Where that applies we delete everything else and tell you exactly what was kept and when it will go:
- Identity verification records
- Kept [5] years after the account closes — anti-money-laundering rules.
- Payment and ledger entries
- Kept [6] years — tax and accounting law. A double-entry ledger cannot have rows removed without breaking the record of money that actually moved.
- Records under active dispute
- Kept until the dispute is resolved, then subject to the normal periods.
Deleting your account
You can close your account from Settings at any time. Closing it withdraws any consent-based processing immediately: connected social tokens are deleted and engagement tracking stops.
Withdraw any remaining balance first. We cannot pay out to a closed account without re-verifying your identity.
If you are unhappy with our answer
Tell us first — reply to the response and ask for it to be reviewed. If that does not resolve it, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission at ndpc.gov.ng, or to a court. Complaining to the NDPC does not cost you anything and does not require a lawyer.
